-Tip by Craig “Buff”ington, (DJ PRO)
Has anyone ever told you: “You get what you pay for?” Most of the time, cheaper isn’t better. When you’re trying to pull off the picture perfect day for your event consider carefully where to cut your budget. If hiring a Pro vs. an amateur is only $100 difference, it’s not much out of your budget and certainly worth the peace of mind. When you’re potentially investing thousands of dollars and several months of planning into your event, do you want to risk your guests going home early? Don’t be afraid to let go of that Benjamin Franklin if it means success at the end of the day!

Did you find the ultimate venue for your wedding but wince at the price tag? Don’t give up yet on that picture perfect setting. Most brides don’t know that having your wedding on a weekday will significantly reduce the cost. While not all venues will host a wedding on a Thursday night, many do and it can put that facility right back inside the ballpark for your budget. Since weddings are planned at least six months in advance, your guests will have ample time to make sure they’re there and it gives everyone the rest of the weekend free to themselves! Be sure to think outside the box when it comes to the date.

-Tip by Jim Vallion, (Trochta’`s Flowers and Greenhouse)
Since events are often planned months ahead, be sure to consider which types of flowers will be available during your event’s season. Be open to some non-traditional choices which may add just the right color and make your wedding or event more unique and even save you money. For instance, for Valentine’s Day, you might want to stay away from red roses and choose another a different color or even another flower such as hydrangeas. For best results, make sure you speaking directly to the floral designer and be upfront about your budget.

-Tip by Mike Cook, (Michael’s Catering)
Never underestimate the importance of the presentation of your food table. Research shows that how the food looks actually affects people’s perception of taste and overall impression of your event. Display food at different heights and use lovely displays, such as crystal or pieces that complement your theme. Color, flowers, lighting, accent pieces all can turn even traditional menus into something special.
