Here’s a question that every wedding and other special event planner should ask themselves: What is the most visible and abundant item in a venue that usually goes undecorated? If you guessed “the chairs,” you’re correct.
Hello, my name is Gwen Mead, the owner of Dress-A-Chair. The idea for the business came about when my own daughter, Heather, was planning her wedding. She was married in a church which supplied the usual, unattractive folding chairs for guests. We couldn’t locate any covers for them, so my mother sewed 100 covers that saved the day. Hi! My name is Lori Ritz, the new owner of Young Chefs Academy in Edmond since September 2008. My husband, who is a general manager of a car dealership enjoys helping out whenever he can. After being a stay-at-home mother to our three children for 10 years, I was looking for a way to get back into the “working” world.

Hello, my name is Tag Dertinger, the owner of Dirty Water Coffee Company. I grew up in Oregon where I was used to seeing true drive-thru Espresso shops on nearly every corner. When I moved to Oklahoma City in 2003, I looked into the possibility of setting up the same business concept here. Due to regulations and capitol restrictions, I decided to go with another idea – bringing a complete coffee shop into special events.
